We welcome interest from prospective PhD candidates

The research environment and training available for PhD training and research here are world-class. For those specifically interested in the genetics of malaria and especially an understanding of the role of genetics in drug resistance, this is an ideal place to be. You would have access to a highly stimulating research environment, which is both intellectually challenging and extremely friendly and supportive. The research output is excellent, the Institute gaining a 5* in the most recent research assessment exercise.

You will have access to a wider research environment which includes scientists with international reputations in various aspects of malaria biology, theoretical evolutionary biology, population and quantitative genetics, ecology, other parasitic diseases etc. Additionally, there are excellent training opportunities for career development and for improving transferable skills such as project management, networking, communication etc.

If you have an interest in the research activities within our group, please feel free to make an informal enquiry from us, or consult the university web-site.
